Shop Front Project - Time Management

Time Management

·         For this week, I am going to give a run down of how I planned for my house project.

Trello Board:

·         The easiest way I have come to plan my tasks and progress has by far been Trello – I get a kick every time I can tick something off, and I also really enjoy setting up the boards as they are dynamic, can have checklists per card and can show deadlines for me in real time.

·         I prefer this method over something like a excel spreadsheet, simply because I have used that method before in my A levels and found it very awkward to get cells to look as nice as I want and to edit information as easily. I also noticed that planning to me needs to be simple to look at and make changes too, or else I cast it aside and never look at it again (sorry digital media)

·         My Trello board was set up for blogging also – I struggle to do this regularly and usually the process I must employ is using a handy word document template I made myself, and then copying all the contents into Blogger. My blog posts were kept in line with what work was being done at the time (even If they were published a bit later oops) – and at this point most of my modelling is done and I am wrapping my head around my trim sheets and alphas. I have been quite ahead with this project so far since I started it a week earlier, when we got the brief, which was been a blessing since I think my traditional and digital media will really benefit from extra time right now.

·         I could probably have done with beefing up my plans a bit more – but each card had its own checklist and description that broke down what I had to do at each stage.

·         The green labels show that a task has been done, yellow means I have started it, and the red means that the task has not been started yet.
